The Excellence Program invites highly motivated students to join the forefront of research
and scientific work in the Department of Physics at Technion during their undergraduate
studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Department of Physics Excellence Program is designed for a select group of students with scientific curiosity and exceptional intellectual abilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Personal mentorship from Faculty members.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

    The program is open to all physics study tracks, provided the student is registered in the Department of Physics. Apart from exceptional cases, the program is open to students who have finished their first academic year at the Technion.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    The program was a unique framework where we were exposed to profound ideas in physics <\/strong>through researchers’ lectures from the very first semester. Besides the financial bonus, the program introduced us to very talented individuals, some of whom I am still in close contact with today. The curriculum significantly contributed to my way of thinking. Participation in the program also serves as an additional quality stamp<\/strong>, besides the Technion’s, which impresses in job interviews<\/strong>. I gained a lot from my time at the Technion. Nowadays, I look back at the amount of knowledge I accumulated in such a short time during the program and I miss those days<\/strong> \ud83d\ude42<\/div>

    The program exposed me to all research fields in Physics available at Technion<\/strong> and provided a platform to meet all Professors in the department through weekly enrichment lectures and lab visits. This early accessibility during the degree allowed me to identify areas that interested me and created a sense of comfort and closeness with the faculty staff<\/strong>. Not less important – I met my partner in the program, and we have been married<\/strong> for two years.<\/div>

    Shira Ayal<\/strong><\/h2>High-Tech employee<\/small><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    The program helped me build a foundation for a research career and gain research experience from very early stages of the undergraduate degree. Beyond the academic content and Monday meetings, I developed deep friendships that have lasted to this day, a decade from the start of the program. There is no doubt that participation in the program gave a unique flavor to my undergraduate studies<\/strong>, and the tools I acquired are still useful today.<\/p><\/div>

    \"Rozner<\/div><\/div>

    Mor Rosner<\/h2>completed PhD in the department, will proceed to Postdoctoral research at Cambridge and Institute for Advanced Studies at Princeton<\/small><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
    \n
    In my view, the Excellence Program is like a greenhouse<\/strong>. As part of the program, I had exposure to the research fields in the faculty, straightforward lectures, enrichment activities, and practical research experience. All these were a significant part of mapping out my first steps in research world and academia<\/strong>. In particular, the research I engaged in during the program led to the publication of my first paper<\/strong>. More importantly, the early research experience helped me refine the field that interests me for the future. The guidance and support from the program team were also significant.<\/div>
    \"Zilberman<\/div><\/div>

    Noa Zilberman<\/strong><\/h2>completed PhD in General Relativity in the department, will proceed to Postdoctoral research in Princeton<\/small><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    The program provided me with the opportunity to hear from most researchers in the faculty, an incredible opportunity that exists in very few other frameworks. Every week I was exposed to a new topic in physics, and being given such an experience from the beginning of the first year gave me an advantage I couldn\u2019t get anywhere else. Beyond the physics itself, the close acquaintance with the program staff and extensive interaction with faculty members opened many doors for me in my study<\/strong> path<\/strong>. I enjoyed it \u2013 unlike the pressure experienced by students in many other programs \u2013 thanks to the management and structure of the program, which ideally balanced academic demands with enrichment, all in a good and friendly atmosphere<\/strong>. On a personal level, I was lucky, and my classmates in the program turned out to be some of my best friends<\/strong> (and I even met my wife in the program).<\/p><\/div>
