Recent years have witnessed rapid developments in research fields at the interface of Quantum Information Science, Condensed Matter Physics, and AMO physics. These developments range from realizations of various platforms for quantum hardware to the emergence of new theoretical concepts and tools in the study of quantum many-body systems and in the theory of quantum information and computation. This school, organized within the Israeli quantum initiative, aims to bring together leading experts to train Israeli and international graduate students, postdocs and young faculty in this rapidly developing field of research.
Topics to be covered:
- Physical realizations of quantum information processing platforms: superconducting qubits, trapped ions, topological qubits, photonic quantum circuits
- Quantum sensing
- Fundamental and contemporary topics in the theory of quantum information and computation, including quantum algorithms and error correction
- Recent developments in many-body physics in light of quantum information
The school will take place in Kfar Blum, a pastoral village on a riverbank in the heart of the Galilee, between September 22-27, 2019.
