Seminars

During the semester we have a high energy seminar and a lunch seminar. In addition to these two seminars we participate in a joint theoretical high energy theory seminar in Newe Shalom. The joint seminar takes place on Tuesdays from 10:30 until 13:30 and includes two talks and lunch. This seminar is attended by the high energy groups of all the Israeli institutions and usually attracts a crowd of roughly twenty participants.

Classical and quantum dynamics of higher-derivative theories Abstract: A brief review of the physics of systems including higher derivatives in the Lagrangian is given. All such systems involve ghosts, i.e. the spectrum of the Hamiltonian[...]

Gauge theories in de Sitter spacetime from holographyAbstract: Microseconds after the Big Bang quarks and gluons formed a strongly-coupled non-conformal liquid driven out-of-equilibrium by the expansion of the Universe. We use holography to determine the non-equilibrium behavior of[...]

Modular Features of Superstring Scattering AmplitudesAbstract: This talk will survey some mathematical properties of the low energy expansion of superstring scattering amplitudes at low genera and their relationship to  constraints implied by non-perturbative dualities.
