Abstract: We consider the compactification of 6d N=(1,0) SCFTs to 4d on tubes and tori with fluxes in the global symmetry, with the objective of trying to determine the resulting 4d theory. We propose to deal with this problem by fist reducing to 5d where effective low-energy gauge theory descriptions can be used. In this talk I’ll detail this procedure illuminating its strengths and weaknesses. Particularly, I will also show how this procedure can be used to make progress on this problem for the case when the 6d SCFT is the D-type conformal matter theory.
