Welcome

My research interests are in the field of cosmology, the study of the Universe.
Starting from tiny initial fluctuations, gravitational instability theory provides the main framework for understanding the observed distribution and motion of  galaxies on large scales.
My research explores how the details of structure formation depend on  nature of the  dark matter and   the properties of the expansion of the Universe.

Panoramic view of the entire near-infrared sky reveals the distribution of galaxies beyond the Milky Way
image shows 2MASS galaxies color coded by redshift (Jarrett 2004); familiar galaxy clusters/superclusters are labelled (numbers in parenthesis represent redshift). Graphic created by T. Jarett (IPAC/Caltech)
