Nobel Prize for Attosecond Science
This year’s Nobel Prize in Physics goes to Pierre Agostini, Ferenc Krausz and Anne L’Huillier – “for experimental methods that generate attosecond pulses of light for the study of electron dynamics in matter”. Congratulations to the three, and to all the other scientists with their seminal contributions, such as Paul Corkum and Maciej Lewenstein! The Nobel Prize is and remains the highest scientific award in the world, which honors not only the laureates but also the whole field – and is therefore also quite wonderful for us, who are also working in the field of attosecond science. The scientific justification behind this award is worth reading, see here. Also watch the Nobel Lectures of the laureates here.
