The Wigner Medal is an award designed “to recognize outstanding contributions to the understanding of physics through Group Theory”. It is administered by The Group Theory and Fundamental Physics Foundation, a publicly supported organization. The Wigner Medal is unique because it is a truly international award.
The Wigner medal 2014 was awarded to Joshua Zak for his discovery of the magnetic translation group and the phase and transform that bear his name.
