My research on superconductivity was done in collaboration with Gad Koren. The adjacent painting shows a mythical Cooper pair (painted by Victor Brauner in 1940).
The list of students who worked on superconductivity begins with David Cohen, who being the first one, designed and built most of the lab in order to do his research. The students which followed David were fortunate to have this apparatus available to use in their projects. These students include Daniel Cohen, Ofer David, Niv Levy, and Lior Shkedy.
One project I would like to mention in this area is our Space Superconductivity experiment, which tested the performance of a high Tc Superconductor in space. This was an interesting issue at the time since superconducting devices may be used in future communication satellites. To the best of my knowledge, ours was the first such experiment to go into orbit. The experiment was mounted on the Technion Techsat Satellite, and operated successfully since its launch in 1998.
